5 Best Places to Enjoy Lunch in Palm Springs, THE WESTCOTT

Who doesn’t like to eat well when on vacation? The Coachella Valley offers many fine dining establishments to please your palate regardless of your culinary preferences. Lunch in Palm Springs is a great time to experience the diversity of our many fine restaurants, often at a substantial discount from dinner prices at the same place. There are also some eateries which are only open for lunch in Palm Springs so lunchtime is the only time you can enjoy their tasty offerings. Here’s out list of the 9 best places to enjoy lunch in Palm Springs.

1. Tyler’s Burgers

At the top of our list is Tyler’s Burgers, an award-winning hamburger joint which is only open for lunch. Tyler’s Burgers is a favorite spot for locals to have lunch in Palm Springs and has been named one of the top 5 Burgers in California. Dining at Tyler’s Burgers is al fresco but there is plenty of shade and you can have a brew with your burger to help keep you cool. Burgers are available in beef, turkey and veggie plus you can also enjoy a hot dog. Tyler’s Burgers is located at 149 S Indian Canyon Dr in downtown Palm Springs and are open Monday – Saturday from 11 am – 4 pm.

2. Frankinbun Gourmet Sausage

Whether you call it a frankfurter, a hot dog or a sausage, Frankinbun Gourmet Sausage has the homemade sausage you crave. Frankinbun specializes in all-natural hot dogs including jalapeno hot links, kielbasa, bratwurst and the classic Snap Dog. A house speciality you need to try is the “Chicken & Waffle on a Stick”. Frankinbun is located at 540 S Indian Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs. Frankinbun is open Sunday – Tuesday from 11 am – 4 pm and Wednesday – Saturday from 11 am – 8 pm.

3. Rick’s Restaurant

Rick’s Restaurant is a traditional American diner with a Cuban touch.  Rick’s is a family run restaurant which prides itself on using the best ingredients in their home-cooked meals and boasts of the best soups in the Coachella Valley. The Cuban Rib-Eye sandwich and Media Noche Pressed sandwich are just two examples of the fusion of Cuban flavors in traditional American diner food. Rick’s Restaurant is located at 1973 N Palm Canyon Drive on the north side of Palm Springs. Rick’s is open daily for breakfast & lunch from 6 am – 3 pm.

4. Sherman’s Deli & Bakery

There are times when a traditional New York-style deli is what you want for lunch in Palm Springs. Bring your appetite to Sherman’s Deli because the portions are NOT small! The bread is baked on site for your towering sandwich of traditional deli meats including pastrami, corn beef, chicken breast and many others. You can choose from hot or cold sandwiches (the grilled Reuben is my favorite). If you go with a 1/2 sandwich & soup combo, you may have room for a sweet confection from the bakery afterwards like their signature San Jacinto chocolate cake. Sherman’s is located at 401 E Tahquitz Canyon Way in downtown Palm Springs. Sherman’s is open 7-days a week from 7 am – 9pm.

5. Palm Greens Cafe

Palm Greens Cafe is the place to lunch in Palm Springs if you desire organic vegetarian or vegan cuisine. They also offer gluten-free options on their menu. Meat options are also available and all meats are sourced locally. The food is prepared free of preservatives and additives and made in small batches so it is always fresh. Taste an array of flavors from around the world including Vegan Caesar Salad, Greek Wrap, Grilled Tempeh Reuben and Chipotle Tuna Salad Sandwich. The Palm Greens Cafe is located at 611 S. Palm Canyon Drive in the strip mall where Revival’s is also located. They are open Wednesday – Sunday from 7 am – 9 pm and Monday – Tuesday from 7 am – 3 pm.
