Energy & Water Conservation plus Recycling Efforts
The Westcott is conscious of the environment and how our choices impact both our guests and our surroundings. We have established policies which lessen our impact on the environment in several ways.
Energy Conservation
We have installed solar panels on our roof-top to generate clean energy, providing a majority of our electricity while providing energy back to the grid at times as well.
We have installed high-efficiency Quietside Ductless Heating and Cooling systems in each room. Ceiling fans also provide extra cooling.
All our light bulbs (interior and exterior) are high efficiency LED or fluorescent bulbs.
Water Conservation
We’ve implement a linen and towel re-use program to save water.
We remind you during your welcome tour to re-use your pool towels due to California drought restrictions.
Our laundry equipment is state of the art providing clean linens and towels with minimal water requirements.
Recycling Efforts
We divert the following items from the waste to recycling bins in the back of the house:
Paper (newspaper, boxes, magazines)
Glass bottles
Aluminum Cans
Plastic Bottles
Linen & Towel Re-use Policy
We replace towels if: (1) they are dirty; (2) they are found on the floor; or (3) if the towels have been used for more than 3 days. We replace bed linens if: (1) they are dirty; or (2) the guest requests clean linens through use of in-room signage.
