A Vibrant City
Palm Springs has it all
February 14, 2017
The Palm Springs area has always been a magnet for artists and art aficionados. From the photography of Stephen H. Willard in the early 1900’s through the current exhibitions of the Palm Springs Art Museum, our desert mecca is brimming with both art galleries and art shows. One of the premier art shows in the Coachella Valley is the Spectrum Indian Wells Art Show taking place from March 16 -19, 2017 at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa.
The Prestigious Spectrum Art Show
For the second year in a row, Indian Wells will host the juried Spectrum Art Show to coincide with the 2nd week of the BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament. All pieces selected for the show are reviewed by a committee consisting of artists with impeccable reputations in both artistic development and publishing. Collectors and gallery owners alike will enjoy the exacting hanging guidelines and attention to aesthetics which provide a clean, crisp venue. The focus is contemporary art featuring international artists & galleries. You’ll find a wide variety of media being presented at Spectrum Indians Wells such as photography, sculpture, paintings and glasswork. Media you won’t find include arts & crafts, jewelry or tapestries.
The Spectrum Indian Wells Art Show kicks off with an Opening Night Preview on Thursday, March 16 from 5-8 pm benefiting Desert AIDS Project, a community HIV-specialty care, advocacy and services organization based in Palm Springs. It should be noted that a percentage of all ticket sales benefits Desert AIDS Project all weekend. UBS Collectors Day is Friday , March 17 from noon- 8 pm with a special UBS Collector Party from 5-8 pm. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert Days are Saturday, March 18 from noon – 7 pm and Sunday, March 19 from 11 am-5 pm. Ticket prices range from $10 to $85 and can be purchased online here.
Exceptional art meets up with an equally majestic background at Spectrum Indian Wells to create an innovative artistic venue with stunning desert surroundings. The goal is to reach thousands of art aficionados through special events, education and exhibitions. Spectrum Indian Wells brings a refreshing arts & culture element to the Coachella Valley during sporting events which enrich the body.
