Moxie also offers a delectable menu featuring sharable plates including bar bites and salads. Happy hour is daily from 4-7 pm and all day on Monday and Wednesday. 2. Tonga Hut

The premier tiki restaurant and lounge in Palm Springs, Tonga Hut has a rich history with roots in Los Angeles’ oldest tiki bar located in North Hollywood. There are plenty of vintage tunes coming from the juke box and DJ’s plus the fruity, exotic drinks you’d expect from a tiki-inspired lounge. Happy hour is offered Tuesday through Friday from 5-7 pm. Tonga Hut is located in the heart of downtown at 254 N. Palm Canyon Dr.

A local gay bar with a reputation for good people, good drinks and no attitude, Toucans Tiki Lounge is a hot spot north of the Uptown District of Palm Springs. Be certain to check out the very entertaining drag show revue hosted by Tommi Rose every Sunday night, but there is also the regular schedule of DJs spinning tunes throughout the week plus special dance events. Toucans is located north of the Uptown District at 2100 N Palm Canyon Dr in Palm Springs.

4. Hunters 

The small block of Arenas Road between Indian Canyon Drive and Calle Encilla has several popular gay bars and Hunters is a legendary dance club that has been around for 20-plus years. Hunters features a happy hour which is 9-hours long with plenty of DJ’s spinning the latest music. Check out their weekly events which include karaoke, drag shows, underwear contests and themed T-dances every Saturday afternoon. Hunters is located at 302 E Arenas Road in Palm Springs.

5. Bootlegger Tiki 

Located in the original, infamous Don the Beachcomber building, Bootlegger Tiki has all the kitsch and decor of a Polynesian dive bar that you would expect to find. The tiki cocktails are blended from a mixture of rum, fruit juices and love according to the website and are best enjoyed in the company of friends. Bootlegger Tiki offers happy hours for both the early birds and night owls, from 4-6 pm and midnight-2 am. Bootlegger Tiki is located at 1101 N Palm Canyon Drive in the Uptown area of Palm Springs.
